COUSIN STIZZ’s #OneNightOnly Tour Came to SOBs!

April 22, 2017 7:55 pm

Cousin Stizz has probably one of the most appropriate names in the music industry. Whenever you’re around him, it’s hard not to feel like family. There is a reason why he calls his shows Family Reunions.

Last week, Stizz’s One Night Only Tour made a stop in New York City at the legendary SOB’s. This was the second time we had the pleasure of presenting Stizz in New York City- the last time was at No Ceilings at Rough Trade in Williamsburg. Based on the vibe of the last show and the amazing year Stizz has been having, we knew this show was going to be special. Stizz is one of the friendliest guys around so it’s no surprise that artists like ASAP Ferg + Goldlink came to the show to support.

The first act of the show was Brooklyn’s own Venture Cook, who warmed up the crowd with tracks from his project Alpha Omega. Fellow Boston rapper Big Leano was next, who’s infectious song “Lean For Sale” set the tone for an exciting show. The last opener was Levi Carter, who performed popular tracks like “You Not Gang”.

Cousin Stizz started the show with his banger “Headlock” which had the crowd going wild. It was hard to find a moment when the crowd wasn’t singing along to songs that spanned through his three incredible projects Suffolk County, Monda, and the most recent One Night Only. He performed everything from “Gain Green”, “500 Horses”, to oldie but goodie “Fresh Prince”. The energy was high the entire night and you could truly feel the love from the fans, the industry folks, and Cousin Stizz’s love for just being able to live his dream. These are the types of shows that make all of the hard work and stress of the music industry worth it.
