Last week we got together for another edition of Heineken Green Room with a group of remarkable musicians who all happened to be women! 🙋🏾 This month we featured three women from Arkansas, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia. Friends and Lovers gave a warm (and packed) welcome to Kari Faux, DJ Tara, and Chynna Rogers, who all showed up and showed out!
DJ Tara set the vibes giving us all the 90’s nostalgia mixed with danceable remixes. Philly’s Chynna Rogers, who started her career as a Ford model the age of 14, hit the stage and played songs from her latest project “Ninety” which included “PAF” and “Seasonal Depression“. Chynna’s chill attitude and vibe allow for her sharp and in your face lyrics to cause a double take. Although Chynna is up and coming, her music is already proving to give us something we have been missing in music while also keeping up with the times. We’re excited for what’s next for her.
Kari Faux, whose songs have been featured on the hit HBO show “Insecure“, has been grinding for a minute, and is finally receiving the praise she deserves. 🙌🏽 Brooklyn gave Kari a cozy welcome, and cheerfully keep the same energy through her set. Kari performed her hits “Supplier” “Low Key” “No Small Talk” (which features one of our favorites, Donald Glover) and more. Before the end of the show, Kari brought a couple of people on stage to ‘make it bounce like Spalding‘, ending the night with a slight twerk session (obvs a positive note!).
If you missed Kari Faux at Heineken Green Room you have another chance to see her at SOB’s on 9/27th at 9pm. Tickets here!
