Despite the torrential downpour Saturday evening, it was a full house at Mack Wilds’ intimate Baby’s All Right show complete with a fired up, sold out crowd welcoming him for his first show home in NYC since the release of AfterHours. The New York native, born Tristan Wilds, brought vibrant and lusty energy throughout his hour-long set and had every one in the building singing and dancing all night. Although it was definitely a Lady’s Night vibe, Mack had everyone in the crowd going crazy. The vibes were definitely on point as the crowd sang along to most, if not all, of the songs Wilds performed. Wilds was supported by a captivating band who graciously backed Wilds on stage and through an encore chant.
Wilds’ has had a very busy 2017 so far, starring in the TV shows The Breaks and Shots Fired, yet somewhere in the midst of it all, he managed to release his second album. He performed a handful of songs from AfterHours, while also taking it back to his previous singles “Own It” and “Henny” from 2013’s Grammy-nominated New York: A Love Story. Wilds returned for an encore and serenaded the crowd to the hit “Own It” before humbly thanking the audience for their love and continued support. Its evident that Wilds continues to be a fan favorite in the city that raised him and his hiatus just did for a much sweeter return.
