On Monday we turned Baby’s All Right, into a real #SugarTrap for Rico Nasty. The DMV princess, shut it down and stole all our hearts. DJ Shy Daughter started us off with a set full of deep cuts and throwbacks. She set the vibes for Safa Gaw, the Belizian rapper from the boogie down Bronx with a knack for witty lyrics. Safa, who had great energy played his latest single, ‘In Fact (Blessed)’ and turned the crowd up.
Next up was Connie Diiamond and her all-girl crew, also hailing from the Bronx. Connie, whose DJ, photographer, and hype girls were all women, brought that ‘gritty New York City’ sound and took us there with her bars and charisma. The final act of the night but certainly not the least was the TACOBELLA herself, RICO NASTY. In true RICO fashion, she came on stage with a flawless blonde and blue wig and boots flashing her name on them. She performed crowd favorites like the hit ‘iCarly‘ and ‘Watch Me‘ from Tales of Tacobella. She ended her set with some #BlackGirlMagic by bringing a group of girls from the crowd on stage while she performed ‘Poppin‘.
Rico who was born in New York but raised in Maryland (DMV). released her first mixtape Sugar Trap in 2016. The tape quickly gained a buzz with songs like ‘Hey Arnold‘ which has a little over a million views on Youtube. Earlier this year she joined forces with Lil Yachty for ‘Mamacita’ which made it onto the The Fate of the Furious soundtrack! Rico latest project, Tales of Tacobella is out now. Listen HERE.
