Fresh up-coming Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelly, MGK for short, is set to make his NYC headline concert debut on May 22 at Gramercy Theatre. Despite the prohibition era gangster image his name suggests, Machine Gun Kelly is a far cry from a violent, villainous mobster- that is, unless he’s spitting over a beat. The name Machine Gun Kelly references his rapid-fire flow and raging energy, annihilating any beat that comes his way. Machine Gun Kelly debuted at none other than the New York Apollo Theatre, being the first rapper to ever win Amateur Night at Apollo in 2009. In February 2010, MGK released his debut mixtape ‘100 Words and Running’. MGK then went on to release his second mixtape, ‘Lace Up’, in November 2010.
MGK appeared in his first SXSW showcase this year and debuted in Austin with a show-stealing performance at the Fader Fort. If you missed his show at The Fader Fort, make sure you are in the building on May 22 as he sets the Gramercy Theatre on fire!Tags: old
