Move Forward Music is excited to present LA-based singer/songwriter Anne Dereaux‘s New York debut September 22nd at Baby’s All Right in Williamsburg. The headline play is in support of her Book of Lolita EP release.
Hailing from Nashville and now based in Los Angeles, Anne Dereaux started writing music seven years ago, with it beginning as one of her creative outlets, alongside architectural designs and poetry. Formerly one half of the pop duo, Dead Right, Anne has been focusing on her solo career and has made quite the splash, being named “Best New Artist of April 2017” by Pigeons & Planes. In April, she appeared in the finale of HBO’s hit series, Big Little Lies.
Her debut solo release Book of Lolita is inspired by an alter ego Anne created when she was eight years old. “I would turn into ‘Lolita’ when I was tired of my mundane life as a stressed second grader (haha)” Anne told Coveteur: “it was me quitting my job, leaving the band, and making the music I wanted to make—it was this moment where I could finally become who I wanted to be. That is why I called it The Book of Lolita.”
