MFM Celebrates Women’s History Month March 2, 2021 11:45 am In honor of Women’s History Month, we’ll be featuring live performances, DJ sets, and special appearances solely by women who are making history right now, exclusively on our Twitch! We’re kicking off performances this Weds, March 3rd, 9pm EST with Ghanian-American emerging Afropop star Amaarae, and South Africa’s Kaien Cruz, along with sets live from Toronto by Jayemkayem.On March 17th, an Official SXSW Showcase highlights artists leading the trend of women in hip-hop, with performances by Yung Baby Tate, Maliibu Miitch, Dess Dior, Ivy Sole, Hook, and Khadijat. The month’s programming also includes live sets by Brooklyn R&B singers KeiyaA and Courtnie, as well as the weekly Sunday art and music program, Parks & Rec, helmed by DJ and visual artist, Quiana Parks, along with special guests. The music discovery videocast, Not 97, will host guest appearances by industry professionals, Dominique Maldonado (Warner Records), and Donna Clair (Audiomack). Brooklyn-born illustrator, Bianca Rivera, was commissioned to produce the original hand drawn artwork below. In partnership with Red Bull, Move Forward Music will produce a limited run of exclusive merch featuring the art, which will be available for purchase at moveforwardmusic.com, with 100% of proceeds going to support Girls Who Listen, a non-profit focused on supporting female creatives and executives in the music industry.Stay tuned for the merch!
