Donwill, known best as the most vocal member of the critically acclaimed rap trio, Tanya Morgan, has officially announced the release date of his long-awaited solo debut, Don Cusack in High Fidelity, set to hit stores March 23rd on Interdependent Media. The album, a narrative based on the John Cusack movie of the same title, is a collection of love songs, chronicling Donwill’s most heart-wrenching experiences with the opposite sex in an attempt to better understand why his most recent love, a girl named Laura for the purposes of the album, decided to leave him. Through this process, the protagonist, Don Cusack, comes to terms with his unrequited love, and the listener gets in touch with emotions they probably didn’t know could be tapped into by listening to a rap album.
Don Cusack in High Fidelity features Tanya Morgan members Ilyas and Von Pea, long time Lessondary member, Che Grand, Nicky Guilland from the alternative soul band Heavy, Opio from Heiroglyphics and young NY spitter Harlem’s Cash. To promote the album, Donwill has planned a mixtape of classic soul and R&B remixes called Laura’s Tape which will drop Valentine’s Day weekend.
