Eli Sostre had us in our feelings AGAIN at his “Sleep is for the Weak” show at SOB’s 😫
October 5, 2017 5:35 pmBrooklyn is definitely not the first city that comes to mind when you think of R&B, but Bed-Stuy’s own Eli Sostre wants to change that. After releasing his debut project Still Up At Night, Eli Sostre also toured with OVO-afilliate Amir Obe, which is fitting since they both have a very dark, lusty, R&B vibe.
This summer, Eli released his latest project Sleep Is For The Weak, which continued to please fans of his self described “late night drive, mellow, lifestyle music”. After releasing two new songs “Hold You Close” and “Glass,” earlier this year, we were able to get a glimpse of what the sound was going to be, which made us even more excited when he performed the project at SOBs .
SOB’s was filled with a cozy mixture of fans and industry folks alike. Eli’ producer and childhood friend Soriano kicked the chill night off before Eli got on stage and had the entire room in a vibe. It’s hard to not be in your feelings when the subject matter in his music is so relatable and passionate. Eli Sostre is definitely up next in the world of dark and slightly emo R&B.
