June 25, 2015 8:49 am

After a Kendrick Lamar co-sign and a killer showing on Sway’s Five Fingers of Death, Little Simz appears to be unstoppable. About a week ago, Simz traveled all the way from hometown London for her much anticipated NYC headline debut in Brooklyn at Baby’s All Right. The big play followed a celebration of Little Simz’ arrival in NYC with a short performance in Vashtie’s room at Webster Hall for House Party, giving fans a sneak peak of what they could expect the following day. Despite her diminutive stature, King Simbi is a powerhouse that commands attention as soon as she steps foot upon the stage. Yes the girl can really, really rap and she’s not just good for a female emcee, she’s good for any emcee. period. “Then we have the ultimate highlight of the night, Little Simz. I’m not even going to use any flowery, big words with 5 syllables, I’m just going to say shawty can SPIT.” – A.R.T.S.Y Magazine

What was mind-boggling about her set was that during every song she performed, she maintained the same level of energy and rapid-pace flow. The crowd was willingly at her mercy and reveled at the sight of her killing every song so easily.” – full live review from The Boombox

Brooklyn locals Daytrip and Jimi Tents + Jay Bel (Sleepercamp) got things started with sets pumping up the audience’s energy for a welcome reception of young, Philly upstart Tunji IGE. Tunji wowed the crowd performing cuts from his excellent offering The Love Project.
