Nyck Caution and the Pro Era Fam Showed SOB’s What New York Rap Is All About
March 11, 2018 9:29 pmNew York City is really beginning to have a moment, as more and more New York artists begin to take over the airwaves from the rise of Cardi B, to the legendary Jay-Z showing us that he never left, Bronx’s own A Boogie, and even controversial artists like Brooklyn’s 6ix9ine are reminding the world that NYC is hip-hop’s birthplace.
Pro Era, the Brooklyn collective, has also consistently been in the conversation when it comes to New York rap. Joey Badass, the most recognized of the group, is one of the most talented rappers out so it is no question that the other members of Pro Era are gaining the attention of rap fans. One of those members in particular is Nyck Caution, who we have had the pleasure of working with before. (In his group Nyck @ Knight with fellow Pro Era member Kirk Knight). Last week, however, Nyck performed solo on the tails of the release of his single “Fortnite”. Nyck Caution will be going on tour with the Flatbush Zombies this year so we are thankful to have been able to see him at the legendary SOB’s before he heads off! Joey, Kirk, and all of the Pro Era was also in the house to support!
The show started up with Dessy Hinds, Dirty Sanchez, and Jayy Gramms as as openers and Powers Pleasant DJing.
