RECAP: Denzel Curry Brought Energy to SummerStage at Coffey Park 🙌🏽
July 1, 2017 7:38 amLast Saturday we had the pleasure of partnering up with our friends over at Summer Stage to bring Denzel Curry, Kemba, and Pro Era’s own, Powers Pleasant to Coffey Park in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It was a sunny Saturday and Coffey Park was filled with people BBQing, laying on the grass and jamming to the sounds of Powers Pleasant.
Kemba, the Bronx emcee, kicked it off with his loaded lyrics and skilled crowd engagement. Pro Era’s Kirk Knight and Nyck Caution, known as Nick @ Knight, made a special guest appearance and got the crowd ready for headliner, Denzel Curry.
Curry hails from Carol City, Florida and rose to popularity last year when he was featured on the cover of XXL’s 2016’s Freshmen Class issue. He performed bangers from his sophomore album Imperial like “ULT” and “Gook” as well as newer material from his more recent EP, 13.
High energy was felt throughout all of Curry’s performance which included a totally safe mosh pit, lots of water, and ended with a football game on the field with fans and friends.
Listen to Denzel Curry’s new EP titled 13, here and new visuals from Kemba, here!
