November 21, 2012 10:13 am

Soul Khan, the intricate-rhyming frontman of NYC rap collective, Brown Bag Allstars, will headline a night of hip-hop at Public Assembly on Wednesday, December 12th to celebrate the release of his forthcoming EP, Psalms. Joining Soul Khan on the bill will be his crew Brown Bag Allstars, plus performances by the fierce-spitting female, Nitty Scott, MC, and Bronx native and hometown favorite, YC the Cynic.

Soul Khan’s distinctive booming voice and personality break the stereotypical mold of an MC. After cutting his teeth on the battle rap circuit, chewing up competing MCs to the tune of over 6 million views on Youtube, Soul Khan has released one full length album, and four EPs (Acknowledgement, Resolution, Pursuance, & Wellstone). December’s Psalms will be his sixth official project to date. Since 2010, in the short span of time since he gave up battling to focus on recording, Soul Khan has been featured on media outlets such as MTV, MTV2,, Complex, Fader, AOL, 2Dopeboyz, Gobal Grind,, The Source, XXL, & Okayplayer. To date, Soul Khan has performed in the United Kingdom, SXSW, the Warped Tour, CMJ Music Festival, A3C Hip Hop Festival, Fun Fun Fun Festival, and NACA music festivals.

On December 12th Soul Khan will celebrate the release of Psalms, giving fans at Public Assembly a fresh taste of new material, as well as performing fan favorites with Brown Bag Allstars. Nitty Scott, MC and YC the Cynic will also perform. The show is open to patrons 21 or older, doors open at 8pm and tickets are available via Ticketweb.
